| Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie (2015): Set in a futuristic Japan after the end of the brutal world war II, the science has progressed by leaps and bounds gives mankind the choice to extend the life and reduce suffering by using sophisticated cybernetics. With all of mankind combined into one system of thought and personalities known as ghosts, the greatest threat to civilization is Cyber terrorists are able to hijack the body and people's memories. When a virus infects a ghost-known as the Fire-Starter begins to spread through the system, resulting in the murder of Japanese Prime Minister, Major Motoko Kusanagi and her elite team of special agents are called to trace its source. How can delve deeper and deeper into the investigation, which reveals traces of government corruption and the informal office that carries all too familiar face. The film is a sequel to the plot of the episode pyrophoric Cult Rise and ties the loose ends of this arc. | ||
